Larry Wachs , is an American radio host. He is a member of Rock 100.5 in Atlanta's morning show "The Regular Guys" along with Eric Von Haessler. The show originated on 96 Rock before the show was cancelled due to a lawsuit. Before Atlanta, Wachs' career included stints as a Top 40 disc jockey at WBLI in Long Island (under the pseudonym "Larry Addams"), WBSB (B104) in his hometown of Baltimore, WEGX (Eagle 106) in Philadelphia (as "Fast Larry Wax"), WPXY in Rochester, and WTIC-FM in Hartford, and as a talk show host at KLSX in Los Angeles. He was teamed at times with Eric Von Haessler since Wachs' time in Rochester. From early 2004 to early 2005, Wachs and Von Haessler were off the air due to controversy, and another controversy in October 2006 forced the duo off the air yet again.
In March 2007, the criminal case against Wachs in the Yogi and Panda controversy that forced the show off the air in October, 2006 was dismissed by the Fulton County DA for having no merit. Consequently, Clear Channel agreed to settle Wachs' breach of contract claims against them in an agreement under which terms were not disclosed.
On January 2nd-12th and April 16th-20th, 2007, Larry Wachs guest hosted "The House of Wachs" radio show on 92.3 Free-FM WFNY-FM NYC in the 9pm - 12am timeslot. Wachs returned as substitute host on May 9 & 11, 2007 and May 11-23, 2007, at 9am-12pm Monday to Friday, the very timeslot vacated by the "indefinite" suspension of radio personalities JV and Elvis. Wachs continued in this timeslot until the station's format change (back to the former K-Rock music format) on May 24, 2007.
Larry currently the writer and host of "What's Your Story?", a short news commentary series appearing on Super Deluxe.
Miscellaneous Information
In 2005, after contemplating how people enjoy watching animals in their natural habitat, Wachs argued that the same would apply to humans, inspiring the gag known as "WWEC" or the "Watch Wachs Eat Club", whose premise is that people would turn out to watch Wachs eat at any given restaurant.
Wachs is extremely critical of left-wing controlled areas of the media and often shows his disdain of such outlets on his show. Wachs himself is conservative, but not nearly as conservative as many personalities branded as such. He and Eric Von Haessler often get into arguments, not only with each other, but with callers over various political and social issues.
Inspired by radio show host, Howard Stern, Wachs mentions his family quite often on the show and occasionally broadcasts them in phone calls on his show. Stern himself has been a topic of discussion and parody on the show also.
The Regular Guys are back on the radio in Atlanta on the new Rock 100.5 FM as of 1/28/08. Also returning are co-host Eric von Haessler, producer/impressionist Tim Andrews, and recently made the official 3rd Regular Guy, Southside Steve Rickman.
